New! My current reading focuses on the Muslim history of the Middle East. You'll see that reflected in the latest additions to "History Outlined".
WELCOME TO WORLD HISTORY AND CULTURES!

Brain Cramp
My name is Cajun Pauley and I will be your guide on this one-year whirl-wind tour of the history of mankind! We will begin at the very beginning of recorded human history, way, way back in the Mesopotamian Valley where Abraham first decided to leave Ur in his dust.
We will work our way through all of history, going from civilization to civilization, ranging from the far East to Africa to India, Europe and all the way to the wild, wild West. Along the way we will encounter such luminaries as Hatshepsut, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Churchill. We will check out the good, the bad and the downright ugly.
My goal is not just to cram a whole bunch of facts into your puny little skulls, but to help you understand the most critical questions anyone who studies history should ask. WHY did it happen and WHAT does it mean for us? Trust me, it's going to take a little work and possibly a big crowbar to get that info into your brain, but if you really want to you can do it...and you really want to because IT'S THE LAW! Ha! You NEED this credit to graduate! So pull on your big-girl panties, quit your whining and get ready to learn something!

Who are all you people?
Much to my surprise, this little site, designed with only my few students in mind, is getting hit a LOT more than I would have expected and from about a dozen countries! If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you would jot me a little email as to what drew you here and what you're getting out of my class' notes. C'mon! Don't leave me hanging! You know you want to satiate my curiosity. If not - well - you're welcome to the notes anyway, but you're a lot less cool. Don't you want to be one of the "cool" people instead of just a history nerd like me?
